Bottle Rocket, the directorial debut of Wes Anderson and the debut of the Wilson brothers. As with all Wes Anderson movies, it's offbeat, wierd and wonderful.

Dreamgirls. I liked the music and the general plotline but I don't think I would have missed out on much had I not seen it.

I finally finished The Stalker. It was a hard movie for me to watch simply because the dubbing.I didn't have the option of subtitles or dubbing and then they had one guy and one woman doing the voice overs. It wasn't a big deal with the woman because there weren't many of them in the movie, but in scenes were there were the 3 main male characters, it was frustrating because it was the same voice, I'm assuming, reading cue cards or something because it was so lifeless and completely free of any appropriate inflection. If I concentrated on the subtitles (they had both, but I couldn't choose between them on the dvd menu), then I would have no idea who was saying what because it was the same voice and if I listened to the dubbing, I would be so distracted by the ridiculous line reading that I couldn't take the film seriously. It was a laborious effort and I have no doubt it took something away from my enjoyment of the movie.

Stranger Than Fiction
Good idea for a story: the character in the story begins to hear the narrative voice of the story he is in.
The way the author character smoked cigarettes and then spit into a tissue and put the cigarette out in her wet tissue was NASTY. Is that not the nastiest thing? Then again, have you ever gotten off the interstate and looked at the side of the road only to see millions of cigarettes butts lining the side of the road?I guess the tissue thing is better for that purpose, but it's such a nasty way to put to your cigarette out.

"Dead man", Jim Jarmusch 9/10. Excellent and funny. But more than that. Conveying interesting messages about what happened to indian populations in America![]()

You've got the mail 5/10.
Leaping and hopping like a frog now, but still have a long way to go before I get crowned as "King Frog"!
I think it's Anderson's best.
My wife loves this film. I enjoyed it, but not as much as her. Maggie G is adorable. All and all, this is a nice metaphysical film.
One of my favorites. Funny indeed. It also has that great line, "Have you heard my poetry." BLAM!
