well the timote product with the henna brought out the copper red colour in the brown of my hair. my natural colour is almost black and it slightly lightened it. Its a really cool product and looks as if its got bits of copper in it. I'd never had a shampoo lather so well in my hair EVER!

I love Matrix Sleek-Look. It really does work well.

Once I was at the salon getting my hair highlighted and the hairdresser was commenting about how healthy my hair looked and felt and I told her that was what I had been using. unfortunately, at this salon, they don't sell Matrix products and the other hairdressers starting talking about how Matrix products are not well made and that they were cheap and I was sort of offended by that last comment - how dare they? 1) Matrix products are not cheap. Suave is cheap - Matrix is not. And there is nothing wrong with Suave either. It's shampoo - unfortunately if you color or perm or have curly hair, Suave probably isn't the best choice.

I need to find some good shampoo and conditioner. The trouble is in kinda poor and can't afford the expensive stuff. (And by expensive I mean anything above 10$) Does anyone have any suggestions?

(I have curly, long hair, prone to tangling and dreacklocking)

Yeah, Suave gave me the worst case of dreadlocks and tangles. Plus it left my hair really dull looking. I use Pantene-Pro V. Really keeps my curly hair from frizzing and tangling. I also use Aussie Defrizzing milk or whatever.

Pantene is good. And Aussie. i like Dove too. i guess i would just pick one that says it's Moisturizing or whatever. I don't where you live, but here it costs about 3.99 - 4.99 for a bottle, so for shampoo and conditioner, that's under $10. i don't know if you meant both had to cost $10 or you wouldn't pay more than $10 per bottle. I am totally with you on that. If I do buy the salon shampoos, I wait until they have a sale like buy one get one, or they will have a liter sale and if I buy a liter, it sits in my shower for like half a year so i tell myself that I am getting my money's worth

I tried pantane but It made my hair really brittle. Sueve IS pretty good but it only lasts about 21/2 months.

I mean 10$ per bottle. I buy my shampoo at walmarts and sometimes the prices are just The only salon shampoo I've tried is TRESemme and it was pretty good but i have to wait a month or so before I can use it again.

I found this on my Curly Hair website:

    http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlta...ic.php?t=91196

    EDITOR’S PICKS:
Poor College Student’s Best Bets (conditioners under $5) – Suave Naturals Coconut Conditioner, VO5 Moisture Milks Strawberries and Cream, Nature’s Gate Aloe Conditioner

Best on a Budget (conditioners between $5-10) – LaCoupe Shine & Smooth Silky Smoothing Conditioner, LaCoupe Color Rescue Color Quench Conditioner, Regis Olive Oil Conditioner, Umberto Giannini Curl & Twirl Detangling Conditioner, Activate Hydrating Conditioner, Nature’s Gate Asian Pea & Red Tea Rejuvenating Conditioner

Best “I ran out of my HG conditioner and need something local” Conditioners - Desert Essence Organics Italian Red Grape Conditioner, Nature’s Gate Jojoba Conditioner, Regis Olive Oil Conditioner, Regis Scented Cherry Almond Moisturizing Conditioner

Best Conditioner between $10-20 – CO Bigelow Not Your Ordinary Daily Conditioner, Jessicurl Too Shea, Elucence Moisture Balancing Conditioner, Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner, Mop Top Lemon Sage Daily Conditioner, Curls Ecstasy Asian Hair Tea Conditioner, Aquage Healing Conditioner

Some Curlies are pretty hard core and don't use shampoo (if they do they use mild stuff like baby shampoo) so I couldn't find much about shampoo.

I have Naturally Curly hair and gave up shampooing a few years ago.

I use Matrix Sleek Look when I want to straighten. I also found this stuff by Africa Organics Tea Tree Oil and Shea Butter Mousturing Creme. It really cuts down on the frizz and it mousturizes as well. I think I got it at Target for around ~$2.

umm lol i did one, but as you can imagine with hair like mine, one curler took 30 min...and it fell out any shampoos that will help, like they have some weird curling shampoo but will it damage my hair

Not an expert but what Ive seen is that the length of your hair works against the curls...something to do with weight my sisters were talking about it once and one went into the physics of it all.

Washing it with rainwater and a hot curler iron thingy? (Why do you want curly hair anyway, I would kill to have straight hair!)

You could try those shampoos and conditioners, theres also styling products that help with curls (probably won't harm your hair) but like Night said the length might work against the curls.
