Don't you find it annoying when people continuosly flip pages until it comes to the point where they would be better off just reading the book?
I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book! When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.
Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice
To Pendragon: Actually, it is...I enter (approach) the alter of God. You didn't pose a question...so...from the Roman Catholic hymm for the dead.....Dies irae, dies illa....? quasi
Latin I am indeed rusty in, to be sure, but I have forgotten verb congugation in French, my second language, so am I really to blame? This is what I come up with after about three minutes:
A day of much wrath, a day for which there has been plenty paid.
Or maybe as I seem to recognize words from an old hymn:
“A day of wrath, for which many shall pay.”
Is that anywhere in the old ballpark, or should I close my Latain note book and creep away?

To Pen: The question was a bit unfaiir since i had to rote-memorize hundreds of lines relative to the catholic mass, the mass of the dead (which dies irae, dies illa is from), high mass, benedictions and ad nauseam. This expression is the first two words of the long prayer of mouning in the mass of the dead....meaning...day of wrath, day of mourning ...and it goes on interminably from there. I played the organ while the rest of the deacons had to sing it in gregorian chant. NOW THAT,S RELIGIOUS OVERLOAD. You were almost right on though. I can't take anymore of this Latin. What other language or question on linguistics might you like? quasi
what other language wouldn't I like? Why you gotta take it so seriously?
"...if you weren't smart enough to get a pedophile in a dress to put a small amount of water on the child’s forehead, then what the eff did you think was going to happen?
a la sala? a palindrome? yo soy? parle francais?
'yo soy' and 'a la sala' are palindromes, dont't you see? very simple ones, but if your teacher gives out candy for palindromes, then simple ones are sufficent, yes?
You mean like "Madam, I'm Adam." ? And I speak fragments of Spanish, French is my second language and I usually make a complete fool of myself with it, I learned some German as a kid and Sleepy could tell you I murder it.

Por una cabeza
Si ella me olvida
Qué importa perderme
Mil veces la vida
Para qué vivir
