Babel. What a sincerely odd movie. I wanted to see it because it has Cate Blanchett in it and I think won best score at the Oscars but what a queer film.

    Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
    Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
    And whether pigs have wings."

Niamh, I loved it. I've seen it twice now. It is so touching. I love the music.
I'm in love with The Vinegar Man and Mr. Tanner, but be careful, it could just as easily be you.

"Black Adder" series all over again 10/10
It is so hillarious and makes my day

Black Adder's great. Have you seen the Fawlty Towers series? It's my favorite BBC show.

I've been watching some oldies, The Third Man and Laura.

I just watched Sherry Baby with Maggie Gyllenhal and Ingmar Bergman's The Passion of Anna. Both were very good. This was the first Bergman film I've seen, and I can see why he is hailed as a genius. This movie seemed avant garde to me even though it was made years ago.

There are so many Bergman masterpieces, the most avant garde of his films is Persona, though. You should check out The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries, Hour of the Wolf...

Nah, it's about the art of bringing a smile on people's lips, here on wikipedia there is something about it!

    American Beauty

I just finished watching American Beauty for the 20th time probably. And i may have even written up a little review on it here too but I am too lazy to look so I will just post again. I love this movie.

It's too bad it ended where it did. There are so many unanswered questions - like do Jane and Ricky ever run away together? Is the shooter ever caught/charged?? And what becomes of Carolyn? Does she spend the rest of her days in agony because her husband died the day he found out she was cheating on him?

I wish they had left a hint or something.

you should check out the band The Frames. The lead singer Glen Hansard is the guy in the movie. Their albums Dance the Devil and For the Birds are by far their best. This band is very famous in Ireland and can fill up the same type of venue as the Foo Fighters!
