Hello everyone. I originally introduced myself back in January, but then went away until now. I'm an avid reader. I will generally read anything, although I haven't become a fan of horror or sci-fi. I go thru phases where I will read what I call "fluff" just to give my brain a break but then I go back to the heavier stuff.

I've been a part of a different forum (work related) that is EXTREMELY clique-y and the posts typically become hostile, political, or filled with sexual innuendo. While that may have appeal in some circumstances, it gets old really fast. From the browsing I have done here so far, I haven't seen any of that. (thankfully!!!)

I hope to get to know some of you better in the future. I'm glad to be back.

    New and excited!

I just signed up tonight, and this looks like a really great forum! I've just recently gotten back into reading more since the new year (no, it wasn't a resolution lol), and I'm rediscovering my love for it.
Currently, I'm reading East of Eden/Steinbeck and loving it.

Hope to meet some interesting folks as well!

Wow, well, I will try to make this short and sweet...

I'm in high school and am loving it. I'm in Journalism and was in the Math and Poetry Club... Classic nerd. I also play the viola in my school's orchestra. Basically, I love the arts. I love drama and music and I play the piano and sing once in awhile in the shower. I love my life, my friends, my family and my religion-(LDS). I wouldn't switch my crazy life for anything...

I love to write Poetry and I am aspiring to write a novel... Hopefully that works out. I look forward to seeing the stuff on here! This should be a great resource!

~Oh, and just call me mormondiva.

Hey, i m Kritika and would like to say hello to everyone.
Introducing myself is one of the most difficult situations that i face because i never know what to say, or maybe there's never pretty much to say about myself.
My life is quite uneventful but my flyaway imagination and advanced day-dreaming abilities kind of compensate for it.

I am quite a reclusive person and take a lot of time to mix with people. I speak less (as people tell me) but that's only because i believe in listening.
I am an Indian. There's nothing much to tell about my childhood so i m coming directly to the present. I am currently pursuing a bachelors degree in english literature. It's only been a month for me in the university and i m loving it. My mother never appreciated my reading novels because she wanted me to pursue a career in the sciences. I used to hide the novels inside my science texts and read without my mother knowing. Well it ended well because i m a literature student now and she is quite happy too.

I am not much into contemporary literature (for now but am thinking of starting it pretty soon) but i love the classics. Dickens, Austen and Thomas Hardy are my all time favourites. Apart from books, i love listening to music and watching a lot of movies.

I stumbled upon LitNet while searching for essays on Emma, and am now completely addicted to this site. I know i will enjoy it with all the rest of the 'book-lover' members. It's already feeling great to be here.

I think i m done now and i request everyone to tell me how good(or bad) an attempt it was for an introduction.
Existence is not only temporary, it is pointless.

    Hello Book Lovers!

    Hi.
I'm Dimmy and I live in Cornwall.
Thought I would try this network out, as I love reading 'classic' literature and have nobody in my life who also does! Therefore, my only option is to discuss 'Sci Fi/ fantasy ' books with my better half and children! Not!
I particulary love the work of Emile Zola (at the moment), previously it was Wilke Collins, Charles Dickens, Balzac etc, etc.
Hope to hear from similar minded people soon.
