    Interview nominations
    It is possible to nominate yourself or anyone else for an interview; however, all interviews are on a voluntary basis and as such it depends on the willingness of the person you have nominated whether it will proceed. Please do not give more than one suggestion at a time. Only the first nomination per member will be considered, so choose carefully who you would like to see interviewed.
    The final decision as to who will be interviewed is up to the Lit-Net Town crier board of interviewers.
    The Nominations are to be done by PM, so as not to clog up the thread with suggestions and such. Please contact me or Aimus.

    I'll point out that they won't post it before Koa answers it
    (and Koa won't answer it before she is actually asked the questions, but this is a minor remark )

    What exactly has happened with this. Some of us love this thread. The interviews are fascinating, and Koa is a particularly intersting person. Our patience has run out.

    I wanted to be an engineer Virgil...Marine Engineer. But my parents thought I was more creative than analytical...which is true. How much math do you have to take...a lot of calculas huh...( my head with an overload of calculas)

    Everytime I see or hear the name Virgil, I think of my friend Virgil...haha, he is so funny.

    That's alright. I'll be patient, too.... I think I'll eventually forget and it'll be such a nice surprise when out of nowhere someone says, "You're going to get asked interview questions now." That will be a happy day...

    And I find it amusing speaking of yourself in third person (looks at Koa..) xD;

    A lot of math. Three classes of calcuus, differential eqations, and advanced math (or something like that, I forget what it was called). And most of the science and engineering classes involve application of the math. But the funny thing is that as an engineer I hardly do anything mathematical. The math is all worked out; it's a matter of understanding the equations. I don't think I've done any calculus in my actual job. I started out liking math, but I absolutely hated it by the middle of college.

    Perhaps you should have tried engineering. Did your parents make the decision for you? It wouldn't have hurt to give it a try. But that's the past now.

    Well I still have a chance...I have one more year of Highschool...right now I'm just working out getting into the school of my dreams!! I'm already ahead of the average highschool student in math...not that I am good, but I doubled up courses in math my sophmore year so I could take Calculas my senior year. I'm just keeping my doors open. My parents would support me in anything I wanted to do...they just couldn't see me as an engineer...my dad wants me to be a journalist and my mom wants me to be a translator for the government or a doctor.

    Oh you're in high school. I thought you were much older. You should do as your heart desires. Why can't they see you as an engineer? Do you enjoy the science classes? If so then you have it in you to be an engineer. But you just have to buckle down and learn the math. You don't have to like it, but to get through school you'll have to know it. But once out of school, you don't really use it that much in most engineering jobs. So if you can bear it while in school, you can have a good career that you'll enjoy after. I hope that helps.

    Agree completely, and also it is my experience that you dont need to be great at drafting either - most engineers get us techs to do the drawings then just stamp it

    Well, I've wanted to be three things my entire life: Mad Scientist, Artist, Writer.

    I love science and math is enjoyable once I understand it. I think my parents are just worried that I won't enjoy it and then don't quit. See I'm not much of a quitter...I have a summer job that I hate, but won't quit because it is my responsibility, I doubled up math and was struggling the entire year...my counselor and parents wanted me to drop one and take it again next year...I stuck through them and ended up with an A in Geometry and I got cheated out of a B because of my teacher...grrr...I ended up with a 79, but I'm glad I got the experience. I am leaning towards journalism though...but I would still like to give it a try...just to keep everything open to me. Thanks for the advice guys!

    You got the makings of a great engineer!!! Go for it. And when you graduate, send me a resume. I love people who don't quit and I would certainly consider hiring you. what you told me there makes you more valuable than a straight A student.

    Yay!!! I might just take you up on that Virgil!! Well, my dad always told me that everything I do, or what I have been doing in Highschool will help me out in the future...so far it has paid off.
