It's Southern Cross by Crosby, Stills and Nash.

Did you have any bad dreams,
    did you break any glass?
    Would you be my companion,
    is there even a chance?
the luminous grass of the prairie hides
feet lovely and still as sleeping doves,
porcelain bones strong enough to carry a life,
    but weighty and unmovable
    As black Dakota hills.

Never Been any Reason - Head East

You know I didn't even know her name
But I was never gonna be the same
What a lady, what a night.

Oh I, I got a funny feelin' when she walked in the room
Yeah my, as I recall it ended much too soon.

Oh, man! I loved this song when I was a kid! I had it on one of those K-tel year end compliation albums and I listened to it all the time.

Summer 1963 (Oh What A Night) by the Four Seasons

    Here comes a stingray
    There goes a manta-ray
    In walked a jelly fish
    There goes a dog-fish
    Chased by a cat-fish
    In flew a sea robin
    Watch out for that piranha
    There goes a narwhale
    HERE COMES A BIKINI WHALE
the luminous grass of the prairie hides
feet lovely and still as sleeping doves,
porcelain bones strong enough to carry a life,
    but weighty and unmovable
    As black Dakota hills.

    Lobster Rock ~ B 52's

The laundry man is really on his toes
Found a hundred-dollar bill among my clothes
When he called me I came a-runnin'
Gave him back his dime for phonin'
I heard him sayin' as I turned to go
    Some of us laugh
    Some of us cry
    Some of us smoke
    Some of us lie
But it's all just the way
that we cope with our lives...

Yes, I got that and Summer of '69 mixed up. Sorry about that.

Is Pendragon's May the Bird of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose ~ Little Jimmy Dickens

    I walked along the avenue.
    I never thought I'd meet a girl like you;
    Meet a girl like you.
    With auburn hair and tawny eyes;
    The kind of eyes that hypnotize me through;
    Hypnotize me through.

I Ran -- Flock of Seagulls

Do you worry that you're not liked
    How long till you break
    You're happy cause you smile
But how much can you fake
An ordinary boy an ordinary name
But ordinary's just not good enough today

Joy to the World - Three Dog Night - one of my favorite songs...was so thrilled to be able to answer without googling

There is a girl in New York City
Who calls herself the human trampoline
And sometimes when I'm falling, flying
Or tumbling in turmoil I say
Oh, so this is what she means

    GRACELAND - Paul Simon

    Pushing forward and arching back
Bring me closer to heart attack
Say goodbye and just fly away
    When you comeback
I have some things to say

Sweetest Goodbye ~ Maroon 5 (I'd never heard of them until this round of American Idol-- I wasn't impressed then or since.)

This is the time when you need a friend
    You just need someone near
Im not looking forward to the night I will spend
Thinking of you when youre not here
How many times will I think about the things
    Id like to do
Always denied the right to live my life the way I want
I want to share it with you

    Some of us smoke
    Some of us lie

that we cope with our lives...

Sweet Dreams -- Air Supply (totally had to google that baby)
Sometimes I feel the fear of
    Uncertainty stinging clear
And I can't help but ask myself how much
I let the fear take the wheel and steer

    It's driven me before
And it seems to have a vague, haunting mass appeal
But lately I'm beginning to find that I
Should be the one behind the wheel

    "Drive" - Incubus
This should be an easy one:

All this machinery making modern music
    Can still be open-hearted
Not so coldly charted; it's really just a question of your honesty.
One likes to believe in the freedom of music
But glittering prizes and endless compromises shatter the illusion of integrity

"The Spirit of Radio" ~ Rush (How true it is!)

There's a "For Sale" sign on a big old rusty tractor.
You can't miss it, it's the first thing that you see.
Just up the road, a pale-blue water tower,
With "I Love Jenny" painted in bright green.
Hey, that's my Uncle Bill, there by the courthouse.
He'll be lowerin' the flag when the sun goes down.
