Heart Cooks Brain ~ Modest Mouse...I just got a bunch of Modest Mouse, not that anyone cares but I just had to add that.

I tried to love her back
And then I shrunk back into my wrap
And in the barrel of my gun
I hope I'm not the only one
the luminous grass of the prairie hides
feet lovely and still as sleeping doves,
porcelain bones strong enough to carry a life,
    but weighty and unmovable
    As black Dakota hills.

    Eddie's Gun - The Kooks

Well I'm not dumb but I can't understand
Why she walked like a woman and talked like a man
"...if you weren't smart enough to get a pedophile in a dress to put a small amount of water on the child’s forehead, then what the eff did you think was going to happen?

    Great song...Lola ~ The Kinks

You say you'll give me a highway with no one on it
A treasure just to look upon it
All the riches in the night

You say you'll give me eyes in a world of blindness
A river in a time of dryness
    A harbour in the tempest
the luminous grass of the prairie hides
feet lovely and still as sleeping doves,
porcelain bones strong enough to carry a life,
    but weighty and unmovable
    As black Dakota hills.

    All I Want is You - U2

you can just get your mind together
    then come across to me
We'll hold hands an' then we'll watch the sun rise
from the bottom of the sea
    But first
"...if you weren't smart enough to get a pedophile in a dress to put a small amount of water on the child’s forehead, then what the eff did you think was going to happen?

Are You Experienced? - Jimi Hendrix

Sitting round, singing songs 'til the night turns into day
Used to sing on the mountains, but the mountains washed away
Now I'm singing all my songs to the girl who won my heart
She is only three years old and it's a real fine way to start

    The Ocean by Led Zeppelin.

    You're on the road
    But you've got no destination
    You're in the mud
In the maze of her imagination
The eternal quest of the individual human being is to shatter his loneliness.

    Beautiful Day ~ U2

Well I'm lying in the dew
And I'm staring at the stars
Yeah He laid me down this blanket
Now I call this blanket grass
And the sun is my alarm
And the moon she makes me dream
And my food is wild honey pie
And water from the stream, thank you world
the luminous grass of the prairie hides
feet lovely and still as sleeping doves,
porcelain bones strong enough to carry a life,
    but weighty and unmovable
    As black Dakota hills.

World Party ~ Thank You World

    Hey baby, is that you?
Wow, your hair got so long
Yeah, yeah, I love it, I really do
'Norma Jean', ain't that the song
    We'd sing in the car
    Drivin' downtown, top down
    Making the rounds
Checking out the bands on Doheny Avenue
    Some of us laugh
    Some of us cry
    Some of us smoke
    Some of us lie
But it's all just the way
that we cope with our lives...

Hey Boy - The Blow (I googled this which I have not done before. Is this band good??)

This is the story of the boys who loved you
who love you now and loved you then
and some were sweet and some were cold and snuffed you
and some just laid around in bed
and some had crumbled you straight to your knees
did it cruel, did it tenderly
and some had crawled their way into your heart
    to rend your ventricles apart
this is the story of the boys who loved you...
The other verses of this song are very romantic. It's my song with my boy (like 'our song' you know?)
Women and men(both dong and ding)
    summer autumn winter spring
reaped their sowing and went their came
    sun moon stars rain

I like them for what that's worth. They are different from what I normally listen to, very electronic but they work for me. I don't know if you're old enough to remember the Tom Tom Club but that's who they remind me of.

And your song is the Decemberists ~ Red Right Ankle.

I gotta job waiting for my graduation
Fifty thou a year will buy a lotta beer
Things are going great, and they’re only getting better
I’m doing all right, getting good grades

Timbuk 3 - The Future's So Bright I Gotta Wear Shades

My brother took to the gospel road
Spent his whole life saving souls
When he looked at me and his blook ran cold
    He didnt even try

I had no dreams and I had no plans
But a gun felt good in my right hand
Warden said 'How come you killed that man?'
I said 'I dont know why'
    Some of us laugh
    Some of us cry
    Some of us smoke
    Some of us lie
But it's all just the way
that we cope with our lives...

Born and Raised in Black and White - Brooks and Dunn

If you like to gamble, I tell you I'm your man
you win some, lose some, it's all the same to me
The pleasure is to play, it makes no difference what you say
I don't share your greed, the only card I need is
"...if you weren't smart enough to get a pedophile in a dress to put a small amount of water on the child’s forehead, then what the eff did you think was going to happen?

The Ace of Spades -- Motorhead

Give me a Leonard Cohen afterworld
    So I can sigh eternally
    I'm so tired I can't sleep
    I'm a liar and a thief

U2 ~ From the Movie Afterword

We weren't accepted and I felt ashamed
Nineteen I left them, tell me who's to blame
My life since then has been from man to man
But it can't run away from what I am
    Some of us laugh
    Some of us cry
    Some of us smoke
    Some of us lie
But it's all just the way
that we cope with our lives...
