I'm a 'newbie', so pardon my over-enthusiasm but I've never been in a place where people are so intelligent and well-read! At college, very few students enjoy English Literature, but I adore it with a passion. It's great to see not everyone is taking English Literature just for the sake of gaining another A Level to add to their university applications.
I'm excited for university now!
I'm applying to King's College, they have amazing English professor, and I know everyone in the lectures there will be as excited as me because they'll share the same passion for books! [At least I hope so! People wouldn't pursue a subject as wonderful as English Literature if they had no interest in it, would they?]

Well I've often wondered who would win a fight: a shark or an alligator (perhaps this is because I live in Florida where sharks and alligators regularly bite people.) Both have big mouths and vicious teeth. (-:

Miss Madison, isn't it great? Online-Lit is like a haven to me. I'm on a couple of other sites that don't understand my writing, but here the majority of people do, and to connect in that manner (to be understood) is a wonderful feeling.

I agree with the majority though, whatever you want to call it, it's nice to have people to chat with who can understand concepts that are at all complex.

Perhaps not all of us (me included) are in-tellectual, but at least we're in-terested!

They could have found a less pretentious word though. Seriously, there's an "intellectual trend" in France right now, with everyone on serious TV shows calling themselves intellectuals when all they are is a bunch of self-centred halfwits. I don't like being assoaciated with those people.
