You know,
life can be hard,
it can be a lot worse,
it can also be much better
right now.

I do begin
to see life a new way
the possibility exists
again

Again
I go to work
in order to build a
Career which will help me support
myself.

obscured shadow
hidden in a mist
unfocused and indecisive

Who me?
Perhaps I am
myself to be or not
living in the shadow of light
at night

we wondered why—
the guns flashed—students died
what went wrong at Virginia Tech
yesterday?

yesterday
some madman prowled
fired his guns into crowds
the body-count went on, up and up
it seemed

it seemed
that hell ruled for
just a little while, campus
a battleground—death all around—
and fear

and fear
dark angel gloom
stalked the campus specter-like
then the shooter took his own life—
what waste

what waste
young people died
our legacy in life
wiped out—senseless homicide—
we mourn…

it is our fate
to suffer and to bleed
and wonder at senseless violence
how sad

How sad
to dwell on the
Negative, when there are
so many good things to focus
on now.

mourning sharing caring
glass broken sirens rang out loud
helpless

Helpless
was Superman
at first, then he threw the
Kryptonite away and rose to
triumph!

my reach. Grasping forwards

completely defeated,
I press on triumphantly to
success!
