    A question about SHYLOCK

    I have to do an essay on wheter Shylock is a victim or a villain in the Merchant of Venice.

    I don't know what to do...

    What do you guys think??

    It would be much appreciated if you guys presented proofs... Thanks

    It's a tricky one. Personally, I don't think you can say either way if he's a victim or a villain, because he's both. He's a very complicated character, the most complicated I have ever come across in Shakespeare's plays.
