You're welcome littlewing. I was raised catholic as well, but we didn't practice much. It was mostly holidays. When I ended up in the pentacostal church with my oldest brother...I was so happy that I could sing and dance and worship so freely as you mention. My church looks traditional, but we are all so comfortable around each other, the worship team and I lead in jeans.
Koa, I didn't think you'd take offense, just being careful because it is never my intention to bother someone.

Congratulations, grace. I remember you mentioning your fiance, but I don't remember which thread. I think it might have been the make a paper doll thread, and you made one of him.
I think the dress is very pretty, and you must be excited. Ten months will go so fast, especially with planning.
Mmm, not everybody in America is extremely religious, many attend church only on holidays and many people are not religious at all. The thing about America is that it is a huge and diverse nation. The America depicted in the media and pop culture is not particularly representative of the millions of people who live here.
Sorry, not meaning offense and certainly not trying to flout forum rules regarding discussion of sensitive topics. I just wanted to point something out.

Oh that dress is stunning grace! A very elegant design. I am certain you will make a gorgeous bride! Congratulations!
Even though it is not for a while, don't forget to post plenty of pictures when the wedding happens!
I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book! When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.

Grace, this is probably the first time I have spoken to you, so please let it be a phrase of congratulations on the engagement, my good wishes for your future, and my admiration for your beautiful dress! As others have said, the time shall indeed go quickly (mine did, lol, and my wedding day was a day of absolute wonder and perfection, wished I could go back and do it again, lol).
Koa, perhaps you have not found your soul mate as of yet, and thus have tainted ideas of living 'forever' with someone. I used to be like that, honest. I used to say that I'd never get married, because I had never found just the right person. Oddly enough, when I was least expecting romance, my husband pranced into my life. I fought it, but he won, and the rest is history. C'est la vie. *hugs to you*
Now, how about a bit of a toast, girls, to our little bride-to-be?

If I ever get married I would want to have an Elizabethan wedding, like the rennaisance fairs. Except I would like to dress as a joker. Better symbolism than any flower or music could achieve I think...

Awww thanks for the toast kiz_paws! I must say we are off to a beautiful start.
You all are so sweet.
My wedding, as it is being planned, kind of reminds me of a mix between the sanctity of the church (stained glass windows, old fashioned church and all) and something like...Gone with the Wind...my dress is going to be all beautiful and poofy, and we will be having barbeque outside and my decorations will be wild flowers....
lol...yes...I'm a bit of a goof..
I really love the Renaissance idea as well.

Oh no I love fancy clothes except they tend to look a bit odd on me..well except for the one dress .... But then again in egypt the getting married and the wedding are 2 differant things, the wedding is the party so Id have a dress for that, and for the Henna but not for the actual marriage. Well that was my plan when I was younger anyway who knows if itll change![]()

In India, the bridal wear is usually in red colour, or in some shade of red, rust, or pink, but mostly it is red. Some consider red as auspicious colour, or colour of happiness. The dress up of a typical Indian married woman changes after marriage. If I dont marry a Hindu, I will have wedding in both ways, the one at the guys side and one a Hindu style weddingAlthough I dont know at this point what's going to happen, but, my favourite part of a wedding is henna
I just love the smell of it and the colour.
When i was i florence they gave you those plastic cloak things. they were blue and looked like big bibs. Hence why i went out and bought a shawl to wrap around my shoulders! and yes they give them to you if you have a shoestring tee.
Hehehe... try coming to Ireland. You have Catholics, Baptists, Orthodox, Jahovahs, Mormans, Protestants which btw are subdivided into Church of Ireland/anglican, Presbyterian, Methodist (i think) lutheran, and calvanists! (but all you really hear about are the Catholics and the protestants.

(I got married on October 6, and it was one of those really perfect fall days, very warm and absolutely no humidity. After the wedding and part of the reception, I decided to change into shorts.)
