    Yes, it is.

I didn't know that until just now, thanks to my mother. She has the telivision switched on right now, and I can hear this song:

Aurat ko nai pahchan mili hai
Maan mila hai, insaaf mila hai.

    Lose translation:

Woman has found a new identity
She has got love/respect and justice.

I wonder why are they playing with us by having this song played all the time on our main telivision channel? Trying to make us believe that it really has happened?
I sang of leaves, of leaves of gold, and leaves of gold there grew.

I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book! When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.

It's not a song from any movie.

Could it be possible that because both of you come from countries close to each other that you would also have heard it sang vin? Maybe on the radio or at a gathering/ festive occasion?

I don't exactly remember the full song, but I am quite sure that it is not from a movie.

You might have heard a similar kind of song. These kind of lyrics are quite common now a days: about a woman finding love/identity/blah blah blah, especially in films' songs.
I sang of leaves, of leaves of gold, and leaves of gold there grew.
