    A perfect book 4 a movie

When i was readin dis buk, i jus strtd lovin my mom n ma family more than wht i did. as i liv in hostel, i go to my home very rarely. but this buk had such a gr8 influence dat i visited my parents da next sundy.

I just couldnt hold my tears when Mrs. Morrel fell ill. Lawrence has described the emotions n relationships very well n a drama was runnin in my mind as i read dat buk. i feel a movie on dis book wil b a very gud one.

manorathan,I only just saw your post. Sorry it has taken so long to respond. I hope you respond back. I am very interested in Lawrence and have read three full biographies. His books are amazing. You must mean you are reading or read "Sons and Lovers". I believe a film was made from this book. I think it is probably difficult to come by. His other novels have been made into films. Last night I viewed "Women in Love" directed by Ken Russell, which I would highly recommend to you, both the film and the book. "Son and Lovers" is Lawrence's most autobiographical book. It is fashioned after his own family and the farm he spent much time at as a youth, owned and operated by the Chamber's family. In the book Jesse Chambers is Miriam. It is a very fine book indeed.

Glad the book made such a personal impact on you, and you went to see your own family. How nice that is.

Virgil and I are discussing Lawrence's short stories in a thread called that. You might want to read some and come into the discussion.

Hi manorathan, I just found your post; my turn to be sorry. You know when I first posted in here I did not realise the thread was an older one.
Virgil kidded me about it and I said, yeah I had realised it; but your know, I never give up on people returning, so it is good to see you have resurfaced at long last.

I just bought the film version of "Sons and Lovers". I found it on Amazon. It stars Sarah Lancashire and Hugo Speer I believe, as Lawrence. This are unknown Bristish actors to me but it looked quite good - it is a two disk set. I hope it works ok on one of my players, ether Region 1 or 2 since it was advertised as being "region unknown." I am holding my breath.
If you have time come over to the "Lawrence Short Story" thread sometime. We will be doing a new story soon. We also have a good poetry thread going of his - "Lawrence Tortoise Poems" - very interesting.

I found the series of Sons and Lovers terrible- couldn't watch past first 10 minutes.
