This is my first post. I'm having trouble navigating this site - maybe I'm stupid, or perhaps it is too easy - I read Victorian Lit. Anyway, I'm looking forward to joining in the forums.

I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book! When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.

Hi, I'm new to the literature network; I enjoyed taking the quizzes and reading a few of the posts. I'm looking forward to some interesting conversations. My avatar is a sternwheeler because I am obsessed with the history of Western Canada {my home and native land]. In particular the history of the era of rail construction, and during this period sternwheelers played a huge role.
I love reading, of course or I wouldn't be here.

Hi! Lyn, older than I wish I was, Scottish living in England. I love early sci fi, the classics, poetry. I went to uni in Scotland and studied Scottish Literature and pscyhology. I'm really interested when the two topics meet, so love psychological novels. No-one around me reads..... I need someone to talk to about books so was totally chuffed when I found this site!

DID SOMEONE SAY SCI-FI?! Even better, early sci fi.

Aw, I know how you feel about feeling left out because no one around you reads. In fact, probably most of us can empathize with you. Well, this is Lit Net, so you won't feel left out here!

So, all in all, hello and welcome!

Hi. I'm Joey, also from that infamous land of corn, Indiana. I can empathize with you as well, Lyn. No one that I am around outside of my lit. classes reads as I do. It can be kind of depressing. I'm reading Blake and Wordsworth right now, but I prefer early modern novels. Also classical Greek and Roman along with some Germanic folklore. Thanx for the forum!
