    shan't cry,
    her chin lifted
    giving an illusion
    of confidence, even self-worth...
    a lie.

    a lie
    you think I can't
    see you beneath your mask.
you think it protects you from pain.
    it can't.
    Lost in silence.

    it can't
    succumb to pain
    no matter how fatigued.
    it rises up, facing challenge...
    my heart.

    My heart
    leaps up when I
    behold a rainnn.... Oh bah.
Wordsworth got there first and better!
    Plague on't.
    Voices mysterious far and near,
Sound of the wind and sound of the sea,
Are calling and whispering in my ear,
    Whifflingpin! Why stayest thou here?

    plague on't!
    this daft world screams
    with the insanity
that fills its every chasm - break
    love's chains!

    Love's chains!
    Why would I want
To break what binds me here?
Prisoner of love! Bound to you—
    Love’s chains…
    Some of us laugh
    Some of us cry
    Some of us smoke
    Some of us lie
But it's all just the way
that we cope with our lives...

    Love's chains
    Hang loose on me,
Yet when I seek to roam
They stop me short and bind me close
    To Thee.
    Voices mysterious far and near,
Sound of the wind and sound of the sea,
Are calling and whispering in my ear,
    Whifflingpin! Why stayest thou here?

    To Thee
    My praise ascends
    The distance between us
Disappears as You press in close
    Wonder

    Wonder,
    I hide beneath,
The hell I wish to seek,
In darkness I shall come to sleep,
    In time,

    In time,
    If I try hard—
If I search out the world—
If I can only see past myself—
    I find…
    Some of us laugh
    Some of us cry
    Some of us smoke
    Some of us lie
But it's all just the way
that we cope with our lives...

    I find
    no time for you.
    Your judgments bore me now.
    You no longer intimidate
    this girl.

    This girl,
    Made my heart stop,
How could I have told her,
I wish I could feel everything,
    I cant.

    I can't,
    feel emotion,
    it sags this darkened brow,
which once felt serene and light,
    bedecked,
My hide hides the heart inside

    It's Raining

    It’s raining.
Oh, how these sudden drops disquiet one—
    These transitory dimples left upon
    The water.
One thinks of long roulettes around the sun,
    And wonders how much longer…

Nice poem. Not a cinquain, but nice.

    2-4-6-8-2 syllables to each line.

    Bedecked
    and bedeviled
in the cloth of one's birth,
comfort and pain coupled to brand
    our skin.
    and somehow a dog
has taken itself & its tail considerably away
into the mountains or sea or sky, leaving
    behind: me, wag.
