    Shelley-Ode to the West Wind

Shelley`s work reveals a poet of his time,a true born romantic.
Ode to the West Wind was written in 1819 .The West Wind becomes a symbol of the poet`s soul in his sense of homelessness,in his wish for an endless wandering.
The wind is uncontrollable ,'' wild", ''fierce''.
The speaker in the poem asks the West Wind for help in restoring his creativity and inspiration.

The poem includes, therefore, both symbols of death and decay and symbols of new life and regeneration.

It was also his wish, as an atheist and proponent of social reform, that the wind spread his word to the young of the world to embrace his ideas of change.
