is this world ending
or am I simply dying...
a raven watches
A raven watches,
Doves peacefully cuddle on roof;
Agression subdued.
"It's so mysterious, the land of tears."

Agression subdued
a small kernel pops: listen!
his heart's opening!
shh!!!
the air and water have been here a long time, and they are telling stories.
His heart's opening!
But inside we found nothing,
We froze in silence!
lol!
We froze in silence!
What were we thinking, getting
extra-strength duct tape?!

Extra-strength duct tape?!
To stich up the unkown hole,
So where is his soul?
So where is his soul?
In the magical wonder
Within earth's beauty.
"It's so mysterious, the land of tears."

Janine, your last two are simply beautiful! I especially enjoyed the first one.
within earth's beauty
peacefully lies ancient lore...
layers of stories
Hi Susan, How sweet of you to say that of my two Haiku. I like yours many times, too...I really like this last one; that is a wonderful last line.
I don't think we officially met. I just read your profile and see we both like antiquing and gardening, although my pathetic garden is in dire need of weeding now...I let it go a few years. Nice photo, too. I posted one earlier in the "Lit Net photoalbum" thread.
My first Haiku, I was thinking of the pretty soft gray doves that frequent my roof. They are so sweet and affectionate. I saw them mentioned as a question on a quiz game the other night, the answer being "turtle dove".
Second Haiku was due to reading about D.H.Lawrence and how he felt man is fused with nature. Funny how your mind works and it comes out in your writing unconsciously.
This thread is so much fun, don't you think? Well, here is my new H -

Pages turn to me
In fear of my black anger.
Who lost my Great Seal?
Voices mysterious far and near,
Sound of the wind and sound of the sea,
Are calling and whispering in my ear,
Whifflingpin! Why stayest thou here?
Who lost my Great Seal?
Kings will rise and fall; alas
Royal reigns exchanged.
"It's so mysterious, the land of tears."

Royal reigns exchanged--
Take the helm, and wish for luck!
Fate favors no man...
May curiousity kill me, and may satisfaction bring me back.
I seem to have finally found my way back to heaven online, formally known as you all. I've missed you all so much....
Fate favours no man
Why? Fortune is a woman
fickle and funny
Voices mysterious far and near,
Sound of the wind and sound of the sea,
Are calling and whispering in my ear,
Whifflingpin! Why stayest thou here?
Fickle and funny
The whims of a woman like a
Fleeing butterfly
May curiousity kill me, and may satisfaction bring me back.
