Macbeth vs. Brave New World OR Oliver Twist

My final exam is going to be writing one comparative paragraph in class comparing Macbeth to either Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens or Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. Now, the thesis statement is going to be given to me the day of the in class exam - and I am going to be given the chance to compare Macbeth to one of the books only - don't have to compare to both the books. If you guys could tell me are the common themes or ideas in between the novels or play (in the case of Macbeth), not comparing Brave New World to Oliver Twist but comparing Macbeth to both of these books. Deception is one - and this was a hint given by my teacher... any other themes or ideas that are common that I could study to prepare for the final exam and think of my examples that I would use in case the thesis is something I've already predicted with help from you guys of course :P. All help is appreciated.

Well, you could explore the idea of the tragic hero (macbeth) against John Savage. Although i'm not entirely sure you could consider john savage a tragic hero. But the two of them can be compared as central characters. Plus, consider that john savage has grown up on a battered copy of william shakespeare's writings.

Honestly i haven't read either works for a really long time, and so i dont' think i could comment well. I'm not sure what sort of level this exam is going to be like though, but my guess, it isn't a university degree =P. So just have fun, and explore things as you want to. Don't be afraid to handle the really meaty stuff, but don't leave out what you might conisder "trivial" either. All valid points you raise go towards your score.

And i think easily, a comparison with brave new world is alot easier. So you might want to just focus on that, if time is short.
