I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book! When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.

Snakes (from a close encounter at age 5 aided by an unsympathetic brother (short version). (Also still have recurring nightmare about alligators I think brought on by reading Bomba the Jungle Boys books and not understanding Pogo at a young age also. Better those then the Air Force ones that never seem to let up.)

XD I'm anthrophobic. I'm not actually sure that such a word exists, but what I did was to randomly put together the two parts: anthro (of or relating to humans) and phobic (fear).

Fear of humans. But what I mean to say is not that I'm afraid of individual people, not at all. I'm afraid of the masses, the crowds. It's people in a bunch that gets me running away. Haha.

Righto. This is the most ridiculous phobia.

I have this strong fear of Butterflies. (okay, you can stop laughing now...)
I absolutely hate the way they fly and the color on their wings makes my feet really itchy. Whenever they -ugh- flutter on my direction- my heart pounds and I run away quickly! I have gathered that I am a Schmetterlingsphobie ("butterfly phobia")

hmm, not at all strange, butterflies are infact extremely aggressive, no joke, when they are flying around people, they are in fact trying to scare them away...its some territorial thing...apperently they are more territorial than dogs.

ps. for all who don't know Shmetterling is butterfly in german.

Had arachnophobia, but holding tarantulas helped me with that!

Ah! *faints* ... or *runs away screaming* In fact, I think I'd start screaming the moment I see even one of its scary legs.

    Arsonphobia- Fear of fire.

I have Arsonphobia I think. This must be the most terrible way to die. If I have any phobias, this is it.

I have always had a fear of large dogs, although it's not so pronounced as to be a phobia. Mostly 'cause for a while it seemed like every big dog was chasing me across the street. I get nervous and jumpy around them, and when I come across one I step behind someone else to avoid it and jump about three feet if it barks.

If I do have an actual phobia, it would be a fear of public speaking. My voice trembles and my hands shake uncontrollably, and I have a little trouble breathing. I just can't do it! Even when there's like only two people (strangers) that I have to present to.

I do, have a fear of that. In classes, at restaurents, everywhere, I just try to hide.
Moreover, I feel so embarrassed when I realize someone was looking at me..
