Exclamation Emily Dickinson & Sylvia Plath

I have to write a paper comparing and contrasting Emily Dickinson's & Sylvia Plath's approach to the subject of death. How they are similar and different and such. Does anyone have information about this or know where I can find something?

Well, I wish I was writing your paper! I would just try to find books of literary criticism of Emily, and I am sure that it will mention her approach to death, as that is such a predominant feature of her poetry.

As far as I know, there aren't so many books about Sylvia Plath, and such as literary criticism, but I am sure you could find some in any decent college library. Public libraries would have bios of both women that might have information. Or read their poetry on death, available no doubt at most libraries, and come to your own conclusions. Are you supposed to cite books written by experts, or just the poetry?

As for what I know, I believe that Sylvia was more realistic about death than Emily in her poetry. Emily was more in a fantasy world with the subject of death, whereas Sylvia writes about it more literally. Sylvia can envision death happening to her, as a person. Emily sometimes is more employing a speaker, than writing about her own feelings about death. I am more of an expert on ED, but I have read books on both women. If you need any more help, pm me. I could try to give you more ideas.
