    Question Please answer my question(s)!

this is my first thread woot woot

Okay so, I am reading Orwells 1984 in my sophmore english class and i have a few questions that i was wondering if any one could help answer.

To start off, in the begining portion of the book, during roman numeral 3, Orwell says that Winston went to work (the ministry of thruth) and read some of the old headings... times 17.3.84 bb speech malreported africa recitify...times 19.12.83 forecasts 3 yp 4th quater 83 misprints verify current issue... ... Owell says that Winston works on them. Is winston rewriting them as they really happend and there for making them so that is looks like they were never wrong and always right?!?! Please answer for me i am very confused

Another thing is, the picture that is "wathching" them is Big Bother, are there pictures in each room?

    Yes.

To get things clear, they have to firstly be very unclear. But if you get them too quickly, you probably got them wrong.

Lightbulb Answering one of the questions

    Dear,
    Little stinson
I am another student in my sophmore english class and Winston's job in the Ministry of Truth which, he re-writes history so it makes it look like Big Brother is the best and Big Brother is right. He re-writes what happend after it happends.

So I hope that answers one of your questions.

Wink answer one of your question

I am also reading Orwell's book 1984,in my english class.

Big Brother has carmas in the picturesin every room and you can look at them and it can look back at you. There is a spot of the room where they can not see you,but you dont want to spend all of your time there because then they will think you are up to something.

I hope i have answer you question

I think it is pretty funny how Winston works in the ministry of truth and he lies about things, by rewriting them to make big brother look good. And he knows the real truth but he can't say anything because if he does he will get in vaporized by big brother. I hope that answered your question.

In my opinion there are two main reasons people not to revolt against Big Brother.
Firstly they don’t remember what was before and therefore they can’t compare what it is now and what it was in the past. People are already brainwashed to such an extent they see only what Big Brother want to be seen.
On the other hand, if there is someone who remembers and who wants to rise against the system, it will be impossible to ruin it. The whole system is created to be unbreakable. With all these cameras watching every single step of yours it is just too hard to do something illegal and consequently to rebel.
