In the region where I live, people don't distinguish between the sounds 'p' and 'b', so they call them hard b and soft b.
They'll end up saying funny things like "It's spelled with a soft b like Baul" when they actually mean it's a 'hard' b as in Paul.
also, they have a funny way of pronouncing cat (Katze) the same way as candle (Kertze), so it often sounds as if they were saying "I'll light the cat" or "The cats were burning"![]()
