Being the ultranosy person that I am, I actually googled for "disgusting food" and found the exact same pic that optimistic posted. The person whose blog it is from says it is Yakitori, a Japanese dish. Looking at it made me want to "yak" alright....
I also found this....it looks pretty nasty as well:Yakitori is grilled chicken speared on sticks. All different parts of the chicken, thighs, skin, liver, etc. can be used for yakitori. The following recipe shows one of the most popular kind which is prepared with chicken thighs and leek.

and i always take my time and cook properly! my point is if ur going to go to the hassle of cooking than might as well do it properly and make it worthwhile., u get what u put it in so u cant complain if ur student who spends a minute cooking!
