    Hello!

Greetings, I'm a new member. I was an English major at Columbia University (BA) class of 67, and received an MFA in theater arts from the short-lived theater program there.

I've been a professional actor all my adult life. I was privileged to be a part of New York Shakespeare Festival's Shakespeare in the Park productions of Henry IV parts i and ii (with Stacy Keach as Falstaff and Sam Waterston as Prince Hal). And one or two years later, the combined productions of Henry VI, i, ii, iii and Richard III (with Donald Madden as Richard). The Henrys were combined into two evenings and Richard III the third evening. I was among the corps of actors who comprised the "ensemble", meaning I had more costume changes than lines!

Welcome to the forum, orra! and jw90019. My dad just played Falstaff in a small production of The Merry Wives of Windsor, what a great character. Looking forward to your posts.

Welcome to the site MTUBINGWA, IdelRaven, orra, bettywalsh and literature bug And jw90019, sounds like you've had a fascinating acting career, maybe you will tell us more about it? there are many students here studying Shakespearean plays. I take it you mean Central Park in New York? Waterson is a great actor in Law and Order, I watch it all the time.

    Hello all.
My name is John, I was born and raised in Australia. I work in occupational health and safety within the mining industry. I enjoy modern and classic literature, with poetry being a real interest/love of mine. One of my favorite pieces of poetry at the moment is "The Second Coming" W.B Yeats. I also love all types of music and i also enjoy movies. I am currently reading "The Historian" Elisabith Costova, Which I am enjoying.
If anybody wants to know anything else please ask.

Welcome Sando. You sound like an interesting person. I think we had a detailed discussion of The Second Coming on one of the threads. You can find it here starting at post 126: http://www.online-literature.com/for...=poemoftheweek

Hi I came upon this site in hopes of finding out more information on Animal Farm for school.
So I'm currently in high school and my interests are reading, writing, listening to music, movies, hanging out with friends...
Hahaha right now I'm just depressed about my low essay/multi paragraph marks. I was in regular English last year but this year I went into Honours after my last year's teacher put me in. The teacher I have now is notorious anyone whose had her will gasp if you reveal you have her. She's specific (standards) in what she wants and even though I'm pained everytime my papers are returned (my solid C! "^^ ) I've sort of stayed in the class even though so many people transferred out (there was not enough seats or desks for people the first day and just yesterday the teacher commented I'm glad the class has gotten smaller, it's about 20 or maybe 15 people now) I'm not sure if it's because I'm too lazy to go get my schedule changed this late in the year or if it's because I want to try and improve my essay writing which I've always thought sucked and made no sense.

Hi, I'm new here. In fact, I'm new to English literature too!
My name's Kathita, and I'm Thai. I've just read Lord of the Flies and I really like it. So, I thought of reading more English books, but don't know how to start.
Whatever. Nice to meet you all!
