Please put me out of my misery!!!

    Hi Everybody,
I'm new to the forum and stumbled across it whilst trying to discover a poem I read a long time ago. I'm not sure what it's called and definitely don't know the author.... I remember parts of it but am missing some too.
I know it's not really long...PLEASE can someone out there help me. The parts I remember are:

Love me or leave me you said,
so I'm leaving while I'm still free
    (missing bits)
Yes I loved you, love you still
    (missing bits)
this unrequited love is the hardest game I'll ever play
so I'm leaving can't you see
cos loving you is slowly killing me.

    Thanks for your help

    Ave

Wish I knew. It does not sound like a classic though. So you might have to do a search online of modern poets. That would be my guess...

Sorry, I have no idea, but it sounds like a song, with "love" so often repeated. If it is a poem, it might have been written in the 60's, a romantic age. I hope you will find it.
