2102--Lilly Lithwaite, an investigative reporter, discovers that the loop-hole story explaining away the disappearance of the year 2097 is a cover-up for a sinister plot by the New Confederacy to steal time and sell it off to wealthy people seeking alternatives to plastic surgery in the eternal quest to hold onto their youth. The New Confederacy scrambles to respond to Lithwaite's expose on time trafficking in their nation.

2103-- The New Confederacy decides to rename this year 2097 in an attempt to get Lilly Lithwaite, an investigative reporter off their backs about a time selling scandal. Lithwaite was unavailable for comment, her office released a statement that someone had really made a snafu of the timeline now, and when Lily returned, heads would roll.The New Confederacy issued its own statement: "If you check the timeline 1997 also disappeared and you can't blame us for THAT, since we didn't exist then! So what makes you think we're responsible for 2097? You got a complex against Southerners or what?"

2098 + 6: The UNs think that having to subtract five years from THEIR calendar (2104) to invoices for products sold to The New Confederacy showing the dates of sale as 2098 is complete idiocy. "Leave it to the South to speak in a Southern Drawl so slow that they've lost six years!" A special session of UNsgress is called (using the five tones of the alien spaceship from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind") to determine if a state of war should be declared.

Bubba Watkins, President of the New Confederacy, released the statement "Y'all can't blame us if yuh lost time. It didn't happen on my watch! 2110--I attend my 110th highschool reunion and discover that the woman sitting next to me at the rubber chicken dinner is wearing a false wrinkly face and a grey wig. It turns out she's none other than the (in)famous Lilly Lithwaite, now under witness protection as she prepares to testify against the New Con. about their time stealing ways in the trial of the century (though nobody's sure what century, since that's what the trial is to decide).

2111-- In the continuing scandal concerning "TIMEGATE", as the ever so clever Lilly Lithwaite has named her story, shocking new developments have taken place when a video was discovered showing Lithwaite in the company of New Confederacy President Bubba Watkins, and the little date stamp on the video clearly says "2097". Not much has been said about the content of the video except that the two were shown to "be on very good terms with each other." Lithwaite called the tape a fraud in a press conference, only to be knocked out of the way by Watkins in his haste to call it a fraud. The plot thickens.

2112 - Amid the turmoil about time and the finger-pointing about how the greenhouse effects of logging the last tree in the rain forests caused the disappearance of California and Florida, and the absurdity of the six Senato... er, I mean... citizens of UNs living in the dome of the Capital Building atop Devil's Tower, and mysterious appearance of a video tape from 2097 somehow showing up in its own future in 2111, no one noticed a small band of identical twins slipping off together to form a new nation in the wastelands of Merryland to live along the corridor of concrete they fondly call, "The Beltbuckle of the Waste". They named their new nation, "Gemini," a name they felt was palindromically symbolic of their culture and of the year their nation was created, namely, 2112.

2114 The New Confederacy's President Bubba Watkins resigns, giving a farewell speach and saying "I am not a crook!" while giving a double V for victory sign. New President Clovis Ledbetter the Upmteenth doesn't pardon Watkins as was expected. He said, quote: "Durn fool got hisself in trouble, let him deal with it. We oughta ride him outta here on a rail. Durn fool, should've known ya cain't trust no Yankee woman!"
