Man, that book, oh lucky you. Good book, but it was severally analyzed because it was done in school. Mind you it was a few years ago.... But, what about strong-willed? I don't think that means the same as courageous... Or, strong... Or well, old?
Santiago is the old man, right? haha (it was a few years ago, remember)
ya he was the old man, but i need to support the 3 qualities.
he was perservering, couragous, and stubborn.
Told by a fool, signifying nothing.
1. He was old.
2. He was a man.
3. He was at sea.
He was stoic.
I just read the book and thought that it was very beautiful and unlike the other Hemingway that I have read.
It was a lot more understated and I love the fact that he comes back and that is the ending.
.....you have read the book, right?
Santiago is not so much courageous as stubborn, he is only fitfully rational, he has, except for this episode, little initiative, few social skills, and little social grace. Santiago is a dreamer, but not goal oriented, content with little but very much aware of his location in the social strata of his village. S is also thoughtful, kind, caring, sensitive, and the list goes on......
1.-Persevering.
2.-Strong, both physically and mentally.
3.-Big baseball fan.
4.-Old (duh..)
