I love the way that Shakespeare speaks in this play. The words he uses and the way that he uses them. He speaks with such passion! I love that, and so far I love Taming of the shrew the best for this reason =] Hope that this helps...

Taming of The Shrew by William Shakespere is a very brillant piece . The way that he puts each scene together , it just goes along as smooth as it's supposted to. Even though you can always remember his varius plays like Romeo and Jliet , Hamlet and many more . this piece is one that will also be remembered forever. The film version gives the audience a sence of sight of what the piece is really about. You sort of feel like you'r in the piece

well I am a freshman in high school and we have just finished reading the taming of the shrew and I think that it would be considered sexist in todays society but back then shakespeare only said these things about women because that was how he was brought up. He simple wrote what he thought.In the elizabethan time period it really was the wives job to all the house work and take care of her husband. well it was certainly a pleasure writing thid message. farewell!

I believe Shakespeare was a feminist. Many women of our day find Shakespeare's 'Taming of the Shrew' an insult when infact if you read between the lines it is quite a compliment and credits women. The play focuses on a number of different issues all revolving around the relationships faced by men and women. Katherina is considered a Shrew by her peers and her father is unable to marry her off. When Petruchio takes on the 'challenge' and weds Kate he aims to tame her. In the end it appears that he has succeeded when really Kate has simply decided to scheme and go along with his silly antics just so she can live a comfortable, relaxed life and get all she desires from him. In her final speech Kate describes how the women sit at home all day, relaxing and resting their delicate bodies whilst their husbands are out working on the land and sea for them; it is as if they are serving women. Although Kate seems to be defending snd siding with her husband and all men she is saying how lucky women are and how basically men serve us! I think Shakespeare was trying to voice his opinion through this play.<br>That is my theory anyway!!
