He's adorable. I'm jealous. Of course I can't possibly handle another dog. He seems quite big for six weeks. Tell me if this is true: Nothing loves life like a puppy.

nothing loves socks new shoes and whimpering day and night like a puppy bless their little chubby hearts.
and nothing loves curtains, paper bags and balls of wool like kittens, bless their scrawny little hearts.
I used to have a persian I called Shalimar, Shally for short. I rescued her from the spca they were just going to put her down. she was matted, terrified and seemed to be dead though she lived.
I took her home, actually bathed her and blow dried her and she just lay there relaxed, so happy to be out of that confining cage. I kept her in the house for a while then tried letting her out. The first day I opened the door and there she was hanging on to the door knob, she was still scared. But in no time she was climbing all the trees, exploring the grass at the side of the creek and she became an amazing hunter. Once she went missing for days and I was sick with worry until one of my children said she was four doors down eating from a bowl with gourmet cat food. Apparently she preferred that. we became inseperable and she became a mighty hunter, afraid of nothing. once a dog was nosing around the yard and she came flying down and jumped on his back and got a ride from the yowling dog(star was hisname and we loved him) then she came haughtily back and wound herself around my legs. when I went for emergency surgery although a dear friend cared for her she lost most of her fur from crying for me. when I came back she couldn't stop purring and laying on my face Ugh. but she was a dear.

    Ah, Shalimar.
We have a black persian named Aladdin. Also rescued from the spca, he might as well have been a squirrel when we got him, so wild and scared. He lived under our bed for a month, behind books on the bookshelves, anywhere he could get that was small and dark. I used to coax him out from his hiding spot with canned food, then I'd grab him, forcefully hold him and brush him, his heart pounding as if I was a wolf mauling him. Now he is delighted by company, his little "eee, eee", squeaking at everyone. He still can not properly meow. We realized he was well and truly tame and happy when we left for a week, had neighbors feed the animals, when we came home he ran to us, my husband picked him up and he began to blissfully drool. Now he drools very often, ugh. He is also a dear.

I've watched Bula grow from closed-eyed newborn to his six week old self, he grows so rapidly! Little fat fluff-ball.

Bula, what a lovely name, he sounds just too adorable. My adopted brother and his wife have a ranch somewhere between Calgary and Edmonton and they continually rescue dogs and cats from people that just let them out on the highway and drive away. Once I asked him what he wanted for Christmas and he said " oh about a hundred pounds of gravy train, if you don't mind."

    Yay, French Toast!

Awww... tiny donkey face! I just want to give him a big kiss on his little nose.

    Thank you, Riesa!

    My favorite animal is ant.
I know if there is a huge group of ants moving together, it's disgusting.
But when there are only several of them, I pay much attention to them and love the sight of their walking and carrying foods.
Life is never too good nor too bad!

Yeah, I like animals. Normal house pets are cool, but I love and plan to eventually get a koatimundi. I have sugar gliders already. My favorite is the red fox. I would love to have on as a pet.

Did you know that if a cat ingests ibuprofen, it's lethal? My husband dropped an ibuprofen the other morning and he was looking around for it and the cat leaped over in the general area of where my husband thought he dropped the ibuprofen and started eating something. My husband couldn't find the ibuprofen and assumed that the cat ate the pill (would a cat even eat a whole ibuprofen?)

Anyway, he called the vet and asked what would happen to the cat if she did in fact eat the ibuprofen and they told him the cat would die. So, he starts looking around for the ibuprofen hoping that maybe he overlooked it and he did. If it doesn't fall into his outstretched hands....

So, our cat is not dead. ****sigh of relief****

    yes it is.

We bought her all these toys and she plays with trash. I got the gift wrap out so I could wrap presents and she got into the curling ribbon and ate some. She likes to chew on dental floss picks and plastic. She likes to burrow in plastic bags. But she is not at all interested in the cat tent or the balls and feather things we bought in the pet aisle. Weird cat.

My goldfish is old now and I think he's dying.

This is an old picture of him.
