Hi!!
I'm studying Beowulf in College and I'd like to extend my comprehension of it.
I heard about an essay by J.R.R. Tolkien, entitled: Beowulf, the Monsters and the Critics.
Do you know where I could find it (for free)?
Thanks a lot![]()

"What else is love but understanding and rejoicing in the fact that another person lives, acts, and experiences otherwise than we do…?"
Seeing that it was published in 1983 (even though Tolkien's lecture on the subject happened like 50 years before), I doubt it is free of copyright. And if it was, I'm not sure how exactly that thing works, because pretty much everything that Tolkien ever wrote isn't available on the web for free.

You're welcome, Elizabeth. I'm sorry I wasn't of much help.
