It's certainly not your fault. It's from a living author, so there are rules to be followed. But thanks for sharing it, it's a great poem indeed, much of US culture and history in a few lines! Enjoyed it very much.

Very intense and probably realistic representation of a storm and the reactions of the crew of the ship attacked by it. Interesting poet.

    Delicate but pessimistic.

    "The Shell and the Heart
    by Ruby Archer
Even as the shell doth glow
    To myriad tints of beauty
    Only upon that side
    Not buried in the sand
    But yielded to the magic
    Of the sun,—
So will the heart take on
    Its fairest hues of joy—
    The radiance of being—
    Turned to that light ineffable
    Of love.

Nice, friendly June poem, but I sit here in the cold of a rainy day. I suppose the bees have all looked for shelter.
Still I much prefer this weather to the heat.

I agree with the heat aversion... trying not to use the AC until the triple digits come. Can tolerate 91°F/33°C or so in the house, Tinky too

"All nature seemed convulsed in some fierce crime, / And then a rainbow, and behold! the sun / Went comforting the harebells one by one;" Stormy weather. Enjoyed

Some damp cloths strategically out of the reach of Tinky may help too. And ice cream and much, much water, for Tinky too.

A beautiful but dark nature poem. I love pines and never thought them sorrowful.
