I will avoid those Isles of Langerhans.

Esther offers "heat" for this week's limerick: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/05/...-limerick-284/

Though I thought it was hot it was not,
since the heat got much hotter. I got
a fine thought for a verse
    (not a whiny, cold curse)
as the heat got much worse than just hot.

Lol, enjoyed... will not be enjoying the hot weather to come.

    On a lighter note:

    heat of the moment
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0KxqxWeZGo

itt shed in the heat of the moment
    hardly Brobdingnagian did itt went
    shedding its floor length hirsute
    alarmingly during any dispute
such is the winter of itt's discontent

Nice warning in that song "Heat of the Moment". Even Brobdingnagians don't like the heat.

Esther offers "road" for this week's limericks: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/06/...-limerick-285/

Like a hog he was hogging the road
and he carried a hoggish, huge load.
Well, we all tried to pass
    but we couldn't alas,
so we let the huge hog hog the road.

    the roadie

the roadie was knowledgeable but humble
like from a turnip truck he must'a took a tumble
but when the show must go on
and the band's drummer had gone
he stepped up to the kit and did rumble

Those canyon roads must be very narrow. It is good that one can always find a replacement drummer for the show to go on.

Esther offers "jelly" for this week's limericks: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/06/...-limerick-286/

    Shocking Jelly Donut Love Song

They filled a fine donut with jelly
and they said it was good for your belly.
    Though it tasted quite good
as my mouth said it should,
my fine belly was shocked by the jelly.

Yes, very narrow country roads with many hairpin turns.

Lol... I think one filled donut once in a long while is ok, but yes - a shock to the system. Enjoyed

    Back later with my offering...

    On the High Seas

The Portuguese Man o' war has no fear of jellies
who eat Medusas with relish to fill their bellies
however Blue Dragons and Violet Sea Snails
and some turtles and fish are drawn to their sails
    their ruthlessness rivaling Machiavelli's
