    the song of quails

the song of quails fills my soul
their sight thrills my very being
reminds me of God's perfect love
    for all His earthbound children

Dandelions are beautiful. The song of quails is a good reminder of God's perfect love.

Esther offers "dish" for this week's writing prompt: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/05/...g-prompts-114/

    Fish, Wish, Dish

    I wish I had a dish
on which to put this fish.
I squished it with a swish.
(What else now rhymes with dish?)

Great use of the word "dish", Tailor!

Esther is out this week, but here's a short poem anyway with no particular prompt or reason for writing it.

    Worry Gone!

The worry has gone with its whine.
I am finally free and can rhyme.
So I'll praise what God's done
    under earth's given sun
and rejoice blessing God all the time.

    Amen: Christ has our backs!

Esther offers "eyes" for this week's writing prompt: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/05/...g-prompts-115/

    Eyes Or Mouth

Your eyes sometimes might say what's true.
Your mouth confirms the final terms.
No matter what you've done or do
your mouth declares the truth for you.

    Very good description of eyes.

Esther offers "tablet" for this week's writing prompt: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/05/...g-prompts-116/

    With Tablet and Pen

    I have a tablet and a pen.
I had some words to write, but then
I thought I better think again.
I'll save the ink for later.

That's a great idea to write poetry on a clay tablet. I wish I could translate them into cuneiform as well.

Esther offers "pet" for this week's writing prompt: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/06/...g-prompts-117/

    Pets A Plenty

Upon the sofa lies a dog.
They have a pet cat, too.
They have a mouse inside their house,
    a peaceful - sometimes - zoo.

I tried an online cuneiform generator - but the results were spurious

Love your poem... a delightful cadence that had me thinking of Eifel 65's hit song Blue Ba Da Dee https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DBA5Wx9T7U
