I just found this poem... I wrote it sometime last fall and it was just hanging about and not posted or added to my collections:

    a chill sunny afternoon

a chill sunny afternoon this fall day
    mister squirrel bounded into view
    through oak leaves strewn during
days of wind and rain - an appoint-
ment with the færie queen seeking
    advice regarding the coming Winter

    the golden sunlight glimmering on
    golden leaves, some still shimmering
with dew as they crackled delightfully
    from mister squirrel's scurrying to
a bole in an ancient oak that led
to a portal into another dimension

A cute poem. Enjoyed the sqirrel's
    scurrying around between two dimensions.
"I seemed to have sensed also from an early age that some of my experiences as a reader would change me more as a person than would many an event in the world where I sat and read. "

From Thursdays at Two poetry yesterday:

Word can: bin, village, needle, launch, odd, make tea, cashmere

    A Village Near Kashmir

In a village near Kashmir we walked
through a needle into a small cafe -
bins stacked here and there -
yet felt an odd comfort as we sat upon
luxurious Persian rugs - and as
the proprietor made tea we launched
into the small talk our local guides led
    peeling back the centuries

Charming poem. Enjoyed specially the walk through the needle!

A poetry dump from my Thursdays at Two poetry group efforts:

Romance and poetry / Golden Acrostic Shovel

"Romance and poetry, ivy, lichens and wallflowers need ruin to make them grow." - Nathaniel Hawthorne

    Crumbled edifices of ancient Romance
idealized eras long lost to ruin and
    venerated in song and poetry,
    invisible sylphs cultivate climbing ivy,
literature lauds stone gnawed by lichens
    impairing the structural integrity and
zeitgeist of the system become as wallflowers
aware yet neglected from their need
tangible as they are, their ruin
iconic now - beauty of ages left to
outlast civilizations and time itself make
no allowance for the ghosts who haunt them
sacrosanct ruins doomed to never again grow

    —--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Word can (from 5/14/2026): sink back, vibrant, bite, finery

    catch and release

    such fight - a hook's bite
    vibrant in your finery
    sink back fair rainbow

    —--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Word can: cataclysm, real, body, trousers, pool

    cataclysm

    'twas my great-granddaughter's play
    her cat in trousers
    a cataclysm - yet
    a real hoot
    tears pooled from my eyes
    as the poor thing writhed
