Lol... tried to change the date of the preceding poem, actually 4/6/2026, and received a b a n n e d notice again... so, the date remains - except in my documents and Padlet

Ha!!! Was able to edit the date

    after the storm 4.10.2026

    after a gully-washing event
    when the calm brings content-
    ment how crisp the air
and so much the greener where'er
I view nature as it is meant

Thank you for the remembrance of Dori and Nemo and that shark Bruce, Tailor. I do remember Dori the most of those characters.

Esther offers "scream" for this week's limerick: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/04/...-limerick-279/

Though I thought it might help if I'd scream,
but caught as I was in a dream
    a scream couldn't come out,
    no, not even a shout,
and right now I've forgotten that dream.

Dreams like that are worthy of forgetting. Enjoyed
    Back later...

    parting

a scream leapt forth from my heart
as my emotions all gathered as I depart
taking refuge in a cheap motel
without the courtesy of a farewell
tears in the shower as I fell apart

a Canada Goose made a terrible blunder
perhaps rattled by the recent thunder
    a power line was encountered
and alas for the poor bird
    its life was torn asunder

    Silver Springs

a 5.7 mag. quake rocked our city
in the middle of prayer at FHE
though it was 135 miles away
    in Silver Springs yesterday
    it rocked and rolled preternaturally

Very nicely done limerick on parting. Poor Canada Goose.

Esther offers "box" for this week's limerick: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/04/...-limerick-280/

Like some rocks in a black and blue box
I discovered the truth of hard knocks.
    Being knocked all about
I had no breath to shout
except, "Help me get out of this box!"

    Lol... Enjoyed
Back in a bit... your prompt has already tickled an idea

    later...

    little boxes

    there are several boxes systematic
where I store my toys in the attic
but my favorite box of all
is where no toys are and I can crawl
to escape within and avoid the dramatic

I like the thought of having a box to crawl in in the attic. The dramatic can get way too dramatic.

Esther offers "floor" for this week's limericks: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/04/...-limerick-281/

As I stand on the solid wood floor,
as I walk to the open wood door,
there is more there to see,
    but I don't being me.
Let me change. Ah, just did! I see more!

    New vistas... Enjoyed

    Back later...

    an attractive frivolous young woman

Alex cut quite a rug on the dance room floor
at the færie cotillion near the seashore
    she changed partners each dance
never giving them a second glance
a debutante demurring lest they implore

She sounds hard to get and maybe just as well.

Esther offers this week two words, "prince" and "clean", since she'll be out next week: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/05/...-limerick-282/

Our fine prince is a wonderful guy.
When he walks all the ladies say, "Hi!"
    All the dragons do, too,
as he walks through the zoo.
    What a wonderfully wonderful guy.

Lol... Prince and Alex should get together... Enjoyed the poem and the alliteration

    vince

a frog told a princess he was a prince
in fact he said his name was vince
    but she had her doubts
'cause she was used to these louts
sent vince to her chef (he hasn't been seen since)

That is the danger of a frog approaching a princess. He might be sent to the chef.

Esther offered a second word last week because she is gone this week. Here is my limerick using "clean".

    Clean Limerick

    He’s pretentiously, pompously clean
except when his rhymes are obscene,
    but he’s doing his best,
    so he said, then confessed
that his best is much better unseen.

A bit ambiguous, but well done

Adding to my collection of "anonymous" limericks:

    An Anonymous Dude Named Wayne

Wayne was so dope and so clean
and his eyes were all sparkly and green
when he sang in the hood
    he was mostly misunderstood
'cause he mumbled whilst playing tambourine

May Wayne be blessed wherever he goes to sing.

Esther offers "warn" for this week's limerick: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/05/...-limerick-283/

    Bliss In Spite Of Warning

Diving deep in delusion he goes.
You might warn him, but waters now close
and who knows where he'll be
when a kiss sets him free
as the bliss of eternity grows.

At least he got a kiss... Enjoyed

    fair warning and following seas

take heed of the Isles of Langerhans
take note of your AO1C with plans
to alter your diet if need be lest you die
    ignominiously - at least try
for man was fated for longer life spans
