    Thanx

    Perhaps channeling MystyrMystyry... Enjoyed

    Tinky III

As black as night he reposes sweetly
Nose and whiskers may flinch fleetingly
Perhaps a stir from tail or paw
He melts my heart with loving awe
My cat, my companion, my glee

Nice poem of joy for your cat, Tailor! They are amazing creatures. I am glad they like, more or less, being around us.

Esther offers "calm" for this week's limerick: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/02/...-limerick-269/

    Crazy Or Calm

"Are you crazy?" Not yet. I'm just calm
like a rash that is itching for balm
    like a thought I won't think
like a word with a wink
like a heart beating true in your palm.

"like a word with a wink"... Enjoyed

    calm

    serene cool pond
    night reflections from beyond
    a mirrored universe
    worthy of written verse
    as such our sacred bond

Gonna try again to see if I’m still banned:

There was an old sea dog, Muldoon
Who raced to beat a typhoon
    Was calm as a clam
    ‘Cos he had a plan
Grinned at fate and laughed like a loon

(Sort of a high-pitched warbling laugh of I know bird song)
    Uhhhh...

From time to time Litnet releases a banned message just to remind us that algorithm is the master here. Nothing to take serious! Sancho.

Yeah it’s weird. I’d get the “banned” message whenever I tried to post a limerick for Esther’s “laugh along with limerick” prompt last week. (Night) Maybe the algorithm didn’t like the poem. I mean it was pretty silly. I based it on a Funk tune from the 70s by Parliament, Mothership Connection.
    Uhhhh...

I like those night reflections from beyond, Tailor, and Muldoon's a great name for someone laughing like a loon, Sancho.

The word this week from Esther is "apple": https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/02/...-limerick-270/

There once was a queen who thought she
was the loveliest queen that could be,
    till Snow White came along.
    Though that apple was wrong,
the queen's gone, right or wrong, thankfully.

    I know that story... Enjoyed

    A Golden Key

She was the apple of his eye
Of that no one could deny
She passed on this winter morn
And though our hearts are torn
Our faith soars in rich supply

Two strong emotions there, one inward, one outward. Condolences, Tailor. Mine leans into the silly:

    Should’a went with the donut

There once was a fellow named Ritter
Who wolfed down a huge apple fritter
    It didn’t sit right
    His belly got tight.
So he spent the whole night on the…toilet
    Uhhhh...

This week Esther offers "cast": https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/02/...-limerick-272/

    Cast Your Cares Away

All my worries are worrying fast.
They have cast into now what was past,
    but today is today
    and the past's gone away
and this worrisome present won't last.

Enjoyed the word play with past, present, and future

    John 14 KJV

Cast away your cares and fears
    Heed prophets, revelators, and seers
Repent if necessary your natural man
Invest your energy in salvation's plan
Serenity will master this vale of tears
