    Fold

    Tight winter sting
    from chest to scapulae
    sinks
    as the hour folds.
    A lone shadow
    softens the snow.

(for Stately and all my poetry friends then - I mean, if you like it)

The specificity of scapulae grounds the emotion in anatomy, making the feeling unavoidable and intimate. love it

Hi Bar !... enjoyed your poem, especially "A lone shadow / softens the snow." I'm not a fan of snow nor cold and so far we've been blessed only with copious amounts of rain, but I'll think of your poem when it does, inevitably, snow

thank you tonywalt, "scapulae" invited itself into the lines, am glad it worked for you, and that, precisely as I felt it would/could...
