I was web-surfing on amazon and found to my amazement that Oxford and Penguin have listed the works of the Marquis de Sade as "classics". Hmmm ... Since when was eating human feces "canonical"?? Has anyone read any of his works and can comment on this topic???

I tried to read Sade, but I got disgusted in every sense. I suppose he is considered a classic exactly because his ouevre describes certain perversions in detail. It gave rise to the concept of sadism.
