    A Christmas Blotch

Deep in the heart of the frozen North where icy winds and storms burst forth
Bells aringing, deers atramping, Santa Claus rides on his mighty sleigh
Winding though the Elvin town, he gathers everything not nailed down
All the presents to bring joy on Christmas Day

But trouble stirs in the mountains high where the Ice Trolls gather for midwinter nigh
Their voices nasty and hearts so cold, their eyes like crystal stone
Rattling their sabres and sabring their rattles, the fearsome leader wildly prattles
Filled with fury finally he vows, “This land shall be our throne!”

Down they storm with a thundering roar, to block the sleigh and start a war
“You can stop right there Santa,” they growl with spite
Santa swerves and skids the brake, for Christmas itself is at stake
The leader sneers and snarls “No gifts shall pass this snowy night!”

But Santa stands firm, his gaze like steel, for the Christmas spirit is strong and real
He rises full pudge to bellow “Stand aside, you trolls, or face my cheer!”
But the leader continues to gibber and jibe, “Forget it old man - we stomp on your vibe!”
Santa snorts, and states “The world needs hope, and I’ll bring it here!”

The trolls just laugh, their teeth like ice, “Your cheer won’t work — it’s far too nice!”
Santa spins and sees a toy - a bow with a sticky arrowhead
“This realm is ours, so turn around - lest your sleigh won’t leave this frozen ground!”
Santa draws and takes a shot and an arrow soars and sticks to his icy forehead

Irate now and feeling mean, the leader packs a snowball, throws it keen
Santa's hat goes flying off as Blitzen’s nose lights the frosty air
Then Santa whistles, and out of the dark come reindeer strong with hooves that spark
All noses aglow - blazing beacons of love and care

The trolls attack with shards of frost, but Santa’s magic is never lost
He says some words and dances a jig, raises his staff made of holly and pine
The leader is confused and sore, so seeks revenge with his army of bores
But then Santa draws a ring, a circle of light divine

“Enough of this!” the leader does bark, and gestures toward the Elvin mark
From the foot of the mountain to the fountain the sprawling village
All they hear is “Ho! Ho! Ho!” as they trudge and stomp through the snow
But just as the Ice Trolls are about to pillage-...

An interruptive elf taps his watch, as to say don't prolong the blotch

The air grows warm, the snow it melt, as kindness is something the trolls soon felt
A stange new sensation as their icy hearts begin to thaw
As one they knelt down, without expression, not half a frown
For Santa’s strength and power was love’s great law

“Forgive us,” they plead, their voices low, “We didn’t know what we didn’t know“
They drop their weapons “This warmth you bring, this light you share...”
Santa snaps the reigns, as the sleigh moves forward on the icy plains
“...It chases away our cold despair.”

Santa smiles and shouts with cheer “Now join my cause this time of year!”
His reindeer rise soaring upward “For Christmas joy belongs to all!”
They all nod and then they sigh, and wave him off into the sky
“Even Ice Trolls, both big and small!”

Deep in the North the legend grows, of Santa Claus and his Ice Troll foes
A message that if ever in doubt, he'll find a way
Because Christmas was saved by Santa the brave
Who warms the heart on Christmas Day

Heart-warming tale. Thank you very much!
