    The Phoenix

    There was once
    in fairyland
    a legit Phoenix.
He was noted in all the country
    for his beauty.
    The children and even
    the weary soldiers loved him.

One day he met a bad witch.
    Being bored and irritated,
    she transformed him,
    giving him an owlish face.
    Every one now abhorred him.
    The children took flight
    when they saw him
and the soldiers didn't visit him
    anymore.

The sad bird went to his Godmother
and asked her for his old face.
The old wise fairy sighed and said:
"My dear that was my enemy Uglynova.
    She hates good looks.
If I restore your old face
She will change it again and again.
So I will teach you to live
    with your new one.
    You will practice being reborn
out of the ashes during thirty days.
Then you will be able to resume your life.

The young bird followed his Godmother's advice.
During thirty days he practiced assiduously
being reborn out of the ashes

    When he went home
    he felt more lighthearted
and when the children run away from him
he winked at them with his owlish eye.
Soon the children got used to his new face
and enjoyed his company as they did before.

He was invited to give interviews
on the telly and in the net
    about his transformation
and he enchanted now with his humor
as he had before enchanted with his looks.
    Even the weary soldiers returned.
They loved to take a pint
    in his wise company.

    As for Uglynova
She exploded out of sheer rage
    at his everlasting success!

    Vagabond Poem
The vineyard trives on the mountain
The rain falls on the grass.
But where does the wool come in
    if there are no sheep
    and nobody is knitting?

Challenge: oranges, lake, myriads, sing, border, strong

    leimenids and oranges

myriads of leimenids inhabit fresh water lakes -
a strong community of naiads above reproach
living in harmony with peoples beyond the
borderlands of orange groves ever diffused
with the oranges' blossoms delightful scent
which fragrance spurs all to joyously sing

    naiad neighbors dream
    coexisting peacefully
    with man and færie

    Sail away!

Sail away, sail away on a catamaran
in company of pirates and parrots
    "Pieces-of- eight! Pieces of eight!"
    In quest of Treasure Island.
    Heading south, south, south!
Passing the reefs of Coral Island
and the turmoiled realm of the orcas
    Dreaming of palm beaches
    and enigmatic lagoons
    mirroring the eternally blue sky.

Challenge: Aldebaran, magic, Orient, unfold, water, rich

    The Light of the Soul

    The ancient Orients knew of celestial magic;
I offer one example... let the events unfold...

The eye of Taurus, Aldebaran, wielded by sages
inflicted tragic atrocities upon their unknowing
quarry... the "evil" eye captured from the
heavens within a ewer of water floating upon
pure quick silver beneath a cloud free sky

Only a star ruby gem could preserve one from
the "evil" eye, hence coveted by the rich and
powerful and sought by nearly everyone

It was on a short trip to a waterfall to where
I sought to meditate and put ink to paper
as inspiration struck when I was lulled to
slumber by the serene sylvan surroundings

I dreamt that an evil sage, a rival court poet,
was contemplating my destruction that very
night and I had but scant hours to counter
his spell before Aldebaran rose in the heavens
    - but I hadn't the talisman necessary, for I
never realized my position was worthy of death

Summoning my spiritual courage I awoke to
find a white tiger curled at my feet and, lo, a
    peacock strutting nearby contemplating me

Another dream, perhaps the universe weighing
my worthiness when a golden koi fish leapt from
the waterfall's pool and truly stirred me to awaken

My compassion welled within me to gently gather
the koi with both hands and return it back into
the pool when I espied a sparkling pink pebble
amongst the gray matrices at the pool's bottom -
it beckoned me like nothing before and I strode
confidently into the cool swirling waters after
shedding my humble court garments and sandals

I plucked the gem from the bottom after dousing my
head and reaching with all my might with eager
fingers, clutching as not to drop it if I should falter
    - a perfect pink star ruby! the light of my soul !

The sun was setting as if embarrassed, jealous
of my prize, and, as I dressed and gathered my
belongings secured the heaven sent gem as
best I could - curious, I brushed a few white
stray hairs from my sandals and nearby spied a
pristine peacock feather with which I thought
I could make into a fresh quill pen to write with

Aldebaran glowed angrily within the silver ewer
as smoke curled and the very water became fire

The palace was rent with the bloodcurdling cries
of the jealous sage whose incantations had
rebounded upon himself as he was torn asunder
by the massive claws of a silent unseen beast

Next: clue, primrose, declare, cloak, fractal, brick

    Poem of the open prospects

    I do declare:
this isn´t going to be easy.

    Take a bunch of primroses,
    of all available colors.
Put it in the hand of a mysterious figure
    clad in a dark cloak
and than set the cloaked one on a horse
letting him gallop along a narrow road
    to that house of bricks
    organized in a fractal pattern.
The fractal house at the forked road
    is your clue.
    If you part from there
    everything becomes possible.

Next: hailstorm, brook, llama, inscribe, letter, awesome.

Challenge: hailstorm, brook, llama, inscribe, letter, awesome

    Incan Signs and Portents

I repose near a swollen brook resulting
from a mountainous runoff after a
hailstorm had gone and the night's sky
    revealed

The stars appear as dead to me as Vacana's
contribution to the galactic river Mayu

    Today's emptiness and llama dung
will be my inspiration as I absently inscribe
the finishing touches upon an urpu's
    decorative design of concentric coils
    of lancehead snakes

    A breathless runner brings tidings
    an assortment of khipu - a sort of letter;
    quickly examining the knotted contents
noting the awesome depth of encrypted
coloration I totter rejoicing that my
labors have not been in vain -
the temple priests await my pleasure
