Hi All..
I've been thinking of a humorous poem I read many many years ago where the poet was lamenting the fact that he had difficulties spelling "easy" names like Eliot.. would there be an extra "l" such as Elliot.. or an extra "t" as in Elliott. The poet indicated he had no issues with harder names like (what I recall) complicated German surnames and went on to list a bunch...
It sounds like Nash to me, but I recently went through all the volumes I had of his and could not find this particular poem.. though that certainly doesn't mean it's not his. Could be Auden as well, but I couldn't find anything there either.
Does this ring a bell for anyone? It's driving me crazy.
Thanks.
