oh that's a toughie lendo because for me it comes down to only ever having read 1984, animal farm, and a brave new world and I liked them both.

slight lean towards orwell as his work, though maybe this is debatable on a much finer level, seems more believable. in fact I think that debate is actually out there---maybe i'll do some looking later.

hunger games, divergent, or maze runner?

What do you mean by "is not really a real place"?

I go with Homer, since he was the most influential of that Era, even to Virgil.

    Albert Camus or Franz Kafka?

You see, that's how they do you in California - you think there's an LA, you've always heard about it, you may have even been there, seen it with your own eyes, but pull back the curtain and AH-HAH, it doesn't really exist. It's all smoke and mirrors. If you ask me, I think Hollywood is somehow involved.

In all seriousness, when I think of NYC I think of Manhattan, Brooklyn, The Bronx, (and sometimes Staten Island). I can see it, smell it, hear it, taste it. But when I think of LA, I don't know what I'm thinking of - Wilshire Blvd? Sepulveda? The 405? The 10? That's it! Voila! I'm on to something here! LA is just a huge car park. It goes from San Burdoo to the coast, and probably from San Diego to Santa Barbara. It's yuge. I can't wrap my mind around it. Either it's too big or my brain is too small (or both).

That said, San Francisco is a real place.

    Albert Camus. Love his novels.

The Hebrew Bible or Homer's Odyssey?
    Uhhhh...

Sancho, you being a baseball fan and you left out the home of the mets! (by the way, im reading a very enjoyable baseball book)

well, im going to hedge. for spiritual reasons, the bible, but for ease of reading and reading pleasure, the odyssey. so maybe one in the morning and the other in the evening? but im running contrary to the spirit of the game aren't I?

knowing it is profitable for my soul, i'll go bible.

salsa (the food, not the dance)---hot, medium or mild?

    Bo-Sox.

Only because a few of years ago, on a hot summer night, with a couple of good friends, I had the opportunity to go to Fenway and watch Anaheim squeak one out against Boston. It was a weeknight in late summer and the Sox were last in their division, meaning the game didn't mean Jack, but the place was packed. We sat in the grandstands next to a huge Mexican dude who was wearing an equally huge, bright-red t-shirt emblazoned with an Angel's A. Needless to say we got pelted with peanuts for 9 innings. Great fun. Boston is a great baseball town.

Bounty, old friend, I can't believe In my earlier post I left out Queens. Home of the Mets. Natural enemies of the Braves (my team). What was I thinking? Anyway, I knew my question was an impossible one, and you navigated it superbly, although I believe both those books can be good for the soul.

So then, since we're on the topic:

    Ball Park or Gridiron
    Uhhhh...
