Goodfellas is more my line than Godfathers.

Fables or true animal stories for children?
I think that in terms of directing, Goodfellas it's a greater masterpiece than The Godfather. The way of shooting the scenes, the construction of the storyline, the soundtrack, etc. it's superior. But we have to understand that Goodfellas was released in 1990... The Godfather dates back to 1972. The resources at Coppola's disposal were completely different, archaic even. Marlon Brando had to put cotton in his mouth to talk that way, which say's everything about what they had at their disposal. With the technology and the recourses available in 1972, what Coppola did was outstanding, memorable.

But concerning the overall, The Godfather was superior, in my opinion. Powerful dialogues, powerful scenes, the raw description of the underworld, the incredible and fascinating interpretations, the majestic suggestions that were made threw out the entire movie... it's incredible how most of the information that is important in the movie it's implied, implicit. Either you pay a lot of attention to the movie, or you don't understand most of what's happening. And that's one of the things that makes The Godfather one of the most brilliant movies of all time, and superior to Goodfellas. So, although i like Goodfellas very much, i prefer The Godfather, and i think it's considerably superior.

Concerning to your question, i prefer fables.

Gabriel Garcia Marquez or Luis Sepulveda?

ah now that's a toughie since I don't know who either one of them is!

I suppose that is the occasional pitfall on an international website.

It's a crime that a user of a literature forum doesn't know who Gabriel García Marquez or Luis Sepulveda is!

Now seriously, Gabriel García Marquez is considered one of the best authors in Latin American history, and one of the best writers of the last decades. He even won the Nobel Prize in 1982 in recognition of his overall work. An incredible writer.

Luis Sepulveda is also a big name of Latin American literature.

By Garcia Marquez, i loved "Memories of my melancholy whores". A very touching and profound book. If you haven't read yet, you should.

I prefer Christmas. It's always nice to gather the family and spend a couples days with our loved ones.

The people on this forum come from different countries, they have different literary tastes and interests.
I think one has to respect that. The interesting about a literary forum is this diversity that leads to an echange of experience and opinions. No one has read all writers, not even all the great ones.
I myself, though I have read quite a lot of Spanish and Spanish American writers never read Luís Sepúlveda.

ah green's my favorite color, so that one was easy! but I do love the Christmas pairing of red and green.

alas, just recently I went to get the Christmas decorations for the tree, and some mice had been living amongst the ornaments. so I had to wash everything, only to find the red on the all the bulbs washed right off.

a book in the winter in front of a fire with some hot chocolate, or a book in the summer under the shade of a tree with some iced tea?

A book in the winter (in front of a fire) with some hot chocolate. I have to edit the fire because this is a hot country. Few places are cold enough for fireplaces and the wood for the fire is very expensive. About three hours from here is a town called Campos do Jordão. It is the town with the lowest temperature in the state and we lived there for some years. We didn´t have a fireplace in the house, bjut a wooden stove that was lit in the cold days.

Snacks or popcorn when you read a book or watch the telly?

Evergreen it's more beautiful and energetic, but deciduous has something poetic about it.

Plane, since the travel is a lot shorter. But it's boring as hell all the wait to get in the plain.

    1960's music or 1980's music?
