A Short letter to my High School Friend

As time passed,
Our paths parted,
Never forgetting I have a friend in you,
and so do you.
Your curly hair and green eyes,
Haven’t seen since high school.

That dark cloud of heavy cape
Covered everything but your pretty smile.

I saw the Maple which heard our gossips.
And the oak leaves of autumn colours.
Do you remember fat Marga.?
And that stupid Iota.?
They all walked down the aisle.
Couldn’t dodge the bullet we did.
I’m sure you’ll laugh.
Miss Silvia said Hi..
and little kids from Sunday School send you bunch of hugs.

I love the sentimentality of this poem. A couple of thoughts on the syntax (noted in red) for "Couldn’t dodge the bullet; we did." and the end line "I really am"
