    Hi

Hi there, I'm completely new to this. I'd like to create a blog but I can't see how to do it. Anybody help?

Hi Larry and welcome. On the first page of this website - http://www.online-literature.com/forums/forum.php you will find blogs in the third heading along.

HI thanks for replying! I've found the blog area but I still can't see how I can create a blog, it doesn't seem to say anywhere. Also, how can I delete posts? I accidentally posted my first message twice and I'd like to remove one of them. I clicked on the "edit post" button but there's nothing to say how to delete it. I've checked the FAQs but they're really not very helpful. It just basically says 'you can delete your posts by clicking the edit button' but nothing else! Same for the blog, it just says 'if you're allowed to post blog entries...' but then nothing to say how you get to be allowed! Sorry for all these questions before I've even started but I have to say it's not really very user-friendly or easy to navigate your way here if it's your first time. Feeling a bit useless quite honestly.

Its not entirely simple using the blogs, I started one but haven't made a single post. When you click on blogs the first option is "My Blog". You just have to feel your way forward. I started by reading one of the blogs There are some good blogs here, my favourite is "Memories of the 28th Century" by PeterL.

I've been looking through the blogs section and there's some really interesting stuff. Maybe I'm even less technologically-minded than I thought, but I don't see "My Blog" when I got to blogs. And I still can't see how to delete a post! Anyway, I've started finding my way around the site and posting, so it's fun anyway. I'll check out the blog you suggested, thanks.

    Larry,
I think most of us donīt master the mystery of deleting a LitNet post. I just delete what I have written and then put 5 dots or "double post" on the message (there have to be at least 5 written characters or you former message will be restored).

As for the blog, I just had a look. I think you have to click on any blog of the ones listed on the right side of the forum overview. Under the commands you find "blog settings" and then you can costumize your own blog.

    Hi Everyone

I'm known as Cassie and I just thought I'd pop in here to say hello.

I am an avid reader and take my e reader with me wherever I go as it's so much lighter than trying to carry a library! I usually have 3 or 4 books on the go at the same time.

When I was younger I used to write a lot of poetry but stopped when I began my nurse training and have only taken up writing again in the past couple of years. Firstly with poetry and more recently with short stories and flash fiction. I have also been known to dabble in fanfiction for my sins.

Hopefully joining this site will help me learn how to not only improve my own writing but also widen my reading interests and introduce me to new authors and genres I may otherwise have missed.

Welcome Cassie. It always amazes me that my IPad carries a library on it. Is flash fiction when you get a hand full of words and have to make a story with them? Welcome to the site in any case.

Hi Pompey. Thanks for the welcome. Yes, with flash fiction the number of words often varies and there seems to be no set amount but can go from a diminutive 55 words upto and including a more wordy 1000. I usually find it easier to stick to writing between 100 and 500 words.

    Howdy! Cassie Hughes.

Please don't be shy about sharing your poetry and entering our poetry contests: http://www.online-literature.com/for...s-amp-Contests .

There is also a movement to get some LitNet poetry into a book form; the content being chosen among current LitNet poets who desire to have their poetry added: http://www.online-literature.com/for...96-submit-here .

Both the contests and the book are a bit on the wane for now but only because we lack enthusiastic contributors.

Looking forward to your contribution to LitNet,

Oh. And another howdy to all and sundae ! (sic)
