you wonder if that is an actual fault in the plot, or if the author of the story would have a satisfactory answer to that quandary--like, the shoe, independent from Cinderella's presence serves as a talisman.
my answer however, in keeping with the thread, would have to be-----well, its a little known fact that the movie was originally marketed to manufacturers of glass shoes in general, so the screen writers needed to keep their audience happy by the magical constancy of the glass slipper in particular. otherwise, there would have been a glass shoemaker uprising on their hands...or feet, as it were.
