Wow, what an impressive site! Well-established and still going strong, with a wide range of ages, interests and nationalities represented. I am very happy to have found you.

My name is Kell Willsen and I'm a writer - or rather, a story-teller. I love words, and enjoy the depth and richness of novels and poems, but I have found over the years that different stories suit different media. And so, in order to tell my stories, I am learning about comics, songwriting, stage plays, audio dramas, narrative poetry, oral story-telling, writing for the screen (large and small) and, starting in September this year, game design. And that's just for telling stories - when it comes to enjoying other people's work the possibilities are almost endless. Turns out that there are stories just about everywhere you go.

Ahem... OK, so you may have figured out by now that I like to go off the deep end when it comes to the theory and practice of narrative. Ideas are exciting and up for endless examination, but occasionally I need to shut up and get some work done. Speaking of which...

    Bye!

I will most definitely be back.

Hello Kell and welcome to the site. This IS the deep end, so you should feel right at home. Your love of stories sounds like it will provoke some interesting discussions, so please don't be shy. Welcome again.

Hello Everyone, newbie here. Been writing but does not finish them. I don't know if it's because I'm just really a procrastinator; or maybe I need some feedback.

I've written a couple of short stories that I can't finish. The most recent one, I got an idea from the book, "Beautiful Ruins" and wrote something that has recently happened to me.

I still keep aspiring to be a real writer but I can't find time for school. Online school is not good for me - hence the procrastinator!

I hope I get feedback from you all in a technical point of view. I want my stories to paint a picture, just like everybody else.

    Thanks!
    xoxo - Janice

Howdy! from the Gold Country of California.

Fond memories of driving up HWY 1 in your neck of the woods quite often in the past from Silicon Valley to S. Cruz and north on the way to the City by the Bay. 280 was always faster but unless there were slides I usually took the scenic route. Never stopped, except maybe for gas, but always wanted to stop by the bowling center there.

I frequent the games and poetry threads, but believe you'll be well served by the community when you post your stories.

Hello, I'm Will Cook and I also go by King Shield-Bane. I'm fourteen and am currently working on a book called Anarchiam. I like fantasy, particularly by R.A. Salvatore, George R.R. Martin, and of course J.R.R. Tolkien. Anarchiam is currently on Wattpad if anyone would like to read it. Here is the link.

Everyone finds himself in the world where he belongs. The essential thing is to have a fixed point from which to check its reality now and then.

    Hello Janice,

I know a number of writers who start but don't finish their writes. Many people get stuck in the thinking but not doing phase, and that’s not good because your goals won’t magically get completed without you taking action. Believe in yourself and take action....I know easier to say than do; but it shouldn't be. Don't think...just write and go with the flow.
