I Want to Write a Poem Today

I want to write a poem today,
Something to make me feel better,
Something I can imagine others taking comfort in,
Like petting them with words of heather,
Fragrant, lifting them, a purple bed of heaven.

I can rest there in the verses,
Thoughts drifting by like puffy clouds,
Watching others down below, their laborious living,
Cloaking themselves in darkest shrouds,
Needing, wanting, yearning, yet giving.

May I share some inspiration,
Of things I see and understand,
How forgiveness and peace and loving others as ourselves,
Not fisting, but reaching out our hand,
To make us all feel better, taking comfort in.
