Mundane Monday
There is sunshine, a clear blue sky,
All the colors, all around,
Still, I feel fuzzy, a brainy-bruise, dull headed.
Beat up with words I cannot deny,
As you sat there reciting the words I have dreaded,
"You always...", "You never...", "I hate you, but love you...",
"Why have you not left...", "I don't want you to go...".
So I sit here ho-hum, dazed by the haze
That for everyone else is perfectly clear,
"The hardest person I have ever been with", in a maze,
Bewildered by how awful I am,
"Why don't you change and do what I say?",
I wonder, out there, would I be free,
In the colors, the blue sky, the sunshine...
Maybe from you, but never from me.
